Recharge your body and mind with hyperbaric oxygen therapy HBOT

Who Can Benefit from Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?

How It Works

  • Our team will take your vital signs and ensure you’re ready for your treatment.
  • You’ll enter the treatment chamber, where you can sit, lie down, read, etc (no electronics are permitted inside of the hyperbaric chamber). This is a time to unplug from electronics and heal!
  • Sit back and relax as the chamber pressurizes. You may feel slight pressure in your ears (similar to being in an airplane) but it won’t be scary or uncomfortable.
  • Once the chamber is pressurized, your treatment will begin.
  • After your treatment, we’ll safely depressurize the chamber, which usually takes around 10 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How does HBOT work?

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) uses increased pressure and 100% oxygen to raise the amount of oxygen your blood can carry to your tissues – including areas where circulation is limited. This supports your body’s natural healing processes in muscles, joints, and other tissue.

Who should NOT do HBOT?

HBOT is not recommended for everyone. You should not do hyperbaric oxygen therapy if you have:

  • Severe claustrophobia (fear of small spaces)
  • COPD (a lung disease)
  • A pacemaker
  • Very high blood pressure
  • COVID-19 symptoms
  • If you’re pregnant

If you have a cold or sinus issues, we recommend waiting until you’re feeling better. If you see a specialist such as an oncologist, neurologist, cardiologist, pulmonologist, are currently under care for a health issue or surgery, or are recovering from surgery, ask your doctor before starting HBOT.

How should I get ready for HBOT?

Getting ready is easy! On the day of your session:

  • Wear comfy, loose clothes.
  • Don’t wear perfume, makeup, or hairspray.
  • Bring water to stay hydrated.
  • Don’t take any medications right before your session (unless advised by your doctor).

What if I’m afraid of small spaces?

Many people feel nervous at first, but most get used to it quickly. The chamber has a clear top, so you can see out. You’ll be able to talk with staff the whole time, and the chamber stays cool and comfortable with fresh air.

Can I combine HBOT with other treatments?

Yes! HBOT works well with other treatments like:

How often should I do HBOT?

The Hyperbaric Chamber can be used for a specific clinical purpose OR for overall optimal wellness. Protocols are decided directly by the details of your case for a specific clinical purpose and can vary in sessions and weeks. We usually recommend at least six sessions over the course of three weeks (two sessions per week) with each one lasting 60 minutes.

What does "Hard-sided Chamber" vs "Soft-sided Chamber" mean? Does that matter?

Hard-sided (Medical Grade) Chamber, like the chamber at CMR, are the clinical gold standard and can achieve a higher pressure and hold that pressure more consistently. Built from rigid steel and acrylic, hard chambers are strictly regulated and built to last. Considered to be MUCH safer.

Soft-sided (mild) Chambers are generally considered home use and cannot achieve the same pressure. Soft chambers rely on zippers and fabrics and are prone to leaks.
